Hello. My name is Aubrey, but everyone calls me Betty. I’m from Seattle Washington, U.S.A., but at the beginning of 2014, I moved to Guam. When I was in Guam, I met many Japanese tourist and became interested in Japan. Actually, I’ve never read manga or seen anime, but I thought Japan seemed like a fun and interesting place to visit. I came to Japan eight times, before I moved here! I really enjoy island life, and living in Guam, and I wanted to work in the tourism, or hotel industry, so I thought I should learn Japanese. I came to Fukuoka to study Japanese and attain a business degree in April 2016. I graduated in March 2018.
My favorite Japanese foods are sashimi, sushi, takoyaki, and udon. I really love fireworks, and Japan has so many festivals! I try to see as many as I can. I think my favorite Fukuoka festival is Yamakasa, even though it begins really early, it is so much fun. I enjoy traveling, and I have been to Canada, Ireland, Scotland, Germany, Bali-Indonesia, Korea and of course, Japan. I’ve also travelled around a lot of the United States. There are so many more place I want to see! In my free time, I do yoga, read and take walks to explore my neighborhood. I’m looking forwards to getting to know everyone and teach you English.
